Workshop Mixed Media – Expressive Portraits

Be inspired by the powerful portraits of Rik Wouters, Marlene Dumas, and Luc Tuymans in the permanent collection of the KMSKA. Under the guidance of artist and museum docent Ihor Biloushchenko, we will explore the emotional layers of the face. What lies behind a gaze? How can you bring inner expression to the surface? Through a combination of painting techniques and collage materials, you will create a portrait that speaks.

No prior experience is needed for this workshop! We will meet in the museum’s reception area. After a preparatory exercise in the permanent collection, we will get hands-on in the studio spaces.

  Please bring an apron to protect your clothing. All other materials will be provided by the museum. You are welcome to bring food or drinks.
