Buy an artwork from De Nationale Expo and support De Warmste Week

De Nationale Expo shines a spotlight on 100 amateur artists. They won the competition held this past autumn. Come visit the exhibition at the KMSKA between 22 December and 22 January 2023, or purchase an artwork yourself! Auction house Bernaerts is auctioning the winners’ works for the benefit of De Warmste Week organized by VRT. This way, the proceeds from your purchase go directly to a good cause, such as Fameus.

The online auction starts on Friday, 16 December, and runs until Thursday, 22 December at 7 PM. Never bid on an artwork before? Below you’ll find a detailed step-by-step guide to bidding online.

On 22 December at 8 PM, you can also bid live in the exhibition hall during the exhibition’s vernissage. If you want to participate, it’s best to arrive about half an hour early to register.

Bidding, four ways

1. Live at the museum

You can register before or during the auction with our staff at the entrance of the auction room in the KMSKA. You will provide proof of identity and receive a personal bidding number, which you use to signal the auctioneer during the sale. When leaving the room, you can return the bidding number.

2. From your computer or tablet: via ‘live.bernaerts.eu’

From 16 December, the catalog will be available online, and after registration and approval, you can place a ‘prebid’ on the online platform Bernaerts Live.
Through this bidding platform, you can follow the auction live from your computer, tablet, or smartphone. Please note that you must register at least five hours before the auction starts.

During the auction, log in to the website with your credentials to follow the bids live and place your bid whenever you want.

After registration, you can also bid via the app Auctioneers Bernaerts Live, available for download in the app store.

3. With a written bid

You can submit a maximum bid by sending the ‘kooporders’ form no later than 24 hours before the auction to info@bernaerts.be.
During the live auction, the auctioneer will try to acquire the lot on your behalf at the most favorable price possible.

4. By phone

If you wish to be called during the auction, send the ‘telefonisch biedingen’ form no later than 24 hours before the auction to info@bernaerts.be.
A staff member from Veilinghuis Bernaerts will call you during the auction so you can bid live.

The commission is 0% since this is a charity auction for the benefit of De Warmste Week.

Payment

You can pay for your lot via bank transfer, mentioning your name, the auction, and the lot number, to account number BE79 7330 6193 4833 of DE WARMSTE WEEK.

Please note that it may take a few days for the amount to appear in our account.

You will be contacted in January to arrange a time to collect the purchased item. This can only be done after the exhibition ends. Please also note that the purchased item is insured by the museum during the exhibition for a value of 500 euros.

Collection

We will contact you by 13 January at the latest to schedule a precise time to collect your purchased item. We will offer several time slots on Monday, 23 January, and Tuesday, 24 January, in the afternoon or evening.
