Art installation – STEAL – SKaGeN

Category:

Performance

Date:

Elke dag doorlopend tot 15 mei

STEAL is an art installation created specifically for KMSKA, allowing you, as it were, to look through the museum wall. Conceived and realised by Mathijs F. Scheepers.

You follow Maja, who lost her daughter to her stepmother. She stands in the museum before Jean Fouquet’s Madonna, determined to steal her daughter back. What follows is a search for what possession means, what loss leaves behind, and whether you can steal something that once belonged to you.

STEAL blends film, sound and installation into a unique experience: What you see is real. What you hear makes you doubt. Duration: 11 min.

DEKALOOG 3: STEAL is the third part of the ten‑part DEKALOOG by the theatre collective SKaGeN. A visual and moral tale about love, possession and loss. Each Dekaloog unfolds in a different medium: in a chat conversation, on the radio, in a museum, in a book, via social media or on stage. Together, they form one universe in which the characters intersect, influence one another and sometimes lose each other. All information can be found at dekaloog.be.
