Date:
7 April 2026 from 15:00 to 15:30

In the focus exhibition The Fall of Alva's Citadel: Image and Memory in Turbulent Times, the KMSKA takes as its starting point a piece from its collection that depicts the demolition of the Antwerp citadel in 1577. What at first glance appears to be a lively cityscape reveals, on closer inspection, a layered story of power, manipulation, and quackery. Discover how art was used to shape the memory of a turbulent past.
On Tuesday, April 7, everyone is welcome to meet curator Koen Bulckens, who will give a short explanation of the exhibition.
