The KMSKA during the Second World War

Table of contents
This tour focuses on the history of the KMSKA during WWII. A museum guide takes you through the museum using the war diaries of chief curator Arthur Cornette, who remained in the museum during the occupation.

During the tour, you will learn how artworks and local residents were brought to safety in the museum, which activities the German occupiers organised there, and where bombs fell in the Zuid district. Together, you will also discover examples of Entartete Kunst in the museum collection: “degenerate” artworks that were sold by the Nazis.
