Women in the picture

Meet the women who played an active role in the art world

Women frequently figure in KMSKA's collection. As models or muse, they often appear in ancient and modern art.

In this tour, we focus our gaze on a specific group: the women who were actively involved in the art world - as artists, patrons or collectors. Extraordinary women, from 16th-century Catherine Van Hemessen to the contemporary artists on the square before the museum.
