Drawing in the museum. An time-honoured and beautiful tradition at the KMSKA. One we like to keep alive. Will you join us?

You can experience art so much better with pencil and paper. You waver? Then we challenge you to pick up your materials at a KMSKA Draws! distribution point. And to draw your way through the museum. You can do your assignments anywhere in the museum. So feel free to map out your own route, or combine it with an audio tour.

You choose from one of these three drawing adventures, depending on your experience.

Need some extra help? Then by all means join the free artist-guided drawing tour during one of our events. Whether you draw alone or with a guide, we promise you will never have looked at art so intently. Because to draw is to look. And who knows, your drawing might even win a prize.

A special tradition

Many budding artists practised their skills in the museum. By copying details or entire masterpieces. Sculptor Auguste Rodin was so struck by the works of Rubens that he copied fragments. The painter Alexandre Struys found not only inspiration in art, but also found love with a fellow copyist (even though eventually, his heart was broken). The KMSKA is happy to continue this tradition. And thus we encourage you to look at art differently and more closely.
