Scarabée d’Or is a spatial sound installation that offers an immersive, long-lasting experience. Visitors enter a darkened gallery, walk through a constellation of sculptural panels, and are enveloped by a 15-minute quadraphonic composition by Mireille Capelle. There is no fixed focal point, no story, no linear flow. There is only sound, reflection, and a changing environment that subtly alters perception.
The work functions as a sensory hinge between galleries of visual art. It does not explain or interpret; it offers something essential: a shift in rhythm, a recalibration of presence, a deliberate escape from the hyper-pace of contemporary attention. In this way, it engages with a core value of KMSKA: to look differently, to see more.
