Jules Schmalzigaug was, as an artist, fascinated by color. He was not the only one: many other artists in our collection were as well. Schmalzigaug knew the museum well. Together with curator Adriaan Gonnissen, we explore the connections between Schmalzigaug and the other color enthusiasts at the KMSKA. And that sometimes brings up surprising names.
Color is a clear thread in our collection that connects the Old Masters with the modern artists.
