How are the paintings from the KMSKA collection conserved and restored so that they can be displayed at their best in the museum galleries?
Every two months, you are welcome to visit the conservation studio. There, the conservators themselves explain everything about the artworks they are treating at that moment. The conservation studio is an international centre for knowledge and research, where conservators from all over the world work together. English is the working language in the conservation studio.
On March 3, 2026, you can visit Studio Rubens, where you can talk to Lowie Vercruysse (University of Antwerp) about phase 2 of the treatment of The Adoration of the Magi: scanning the layers of paint.
On May 5, 2026, you can visit Studio Rubens, where you can talk to the restorers of Rubens' The Adoration of the Magi.
