How are the paintings from the KMSKA collection conserved and restored so that they can be displayed at their best in the museum galleries?
Every two months, you are welcome to visit the conservation studio. There, the conservators themselves explain everything about the artworks they are treating at that moment. The conservation studio is an international centre for knowledge and research, where conservators from all over the world work together. English is the working language in the conservation studio.
On May 5, you can visit Studio Rubens, where you can talk to the restorers of Rubens' The Adoration of the Magi.
On Tuesday 7 July, you can visit two locations:
- In the restoration studio, you get a view of ongoing treatments, including a painting by Pieter Brueghel II.
- In Studio Rubens in the Rubens Room, you can speak with the restorers of The Adoration of the Magi
