KMSKA LAAT - FountainFest
Category:
Date:

FountainFest has been an ongoing project by Isabela Arboleda and Ismini Slijper, better known as The ClitChicks, since 2021. Their mission is to revalue and celebrate pleasure from an explicitly anti-patriarchal perspective through art and dialogue.
This autumn, FountainFest presents Hedone: a multisensorial guided tour, for the first time at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp. During this tour, the audience is invited by The ClitChicks (the hosts of the evening) to explore the museum space in a multisensory way. Through sound, touch, scent, taste, sight, and spatial experience, participants interact with both the museum collection and live performances by three female artists.
Hedone challenges us to question our predominantly dominant sense—sight—and brings us back to multi-sensory pleasure, inviting a reconsideration of female bodies within the museum context. Hedone (Ηδόνη) is the Greek goddess of pleasure, delight, and joy—physical, sensory, and emotional—and embodies the celebration of beauty, art, and the joy of life.
This project was made possible with the support of Vermeylen Fonds and DeMens.nu.
