KMSKA LATE - De Twintigers - Elly Brouckmans
Category:
Date:

De Twintigers is a programme on the Belgian radio station Klara that focuses on promising musicians in the fields of classical music, jazz and world music. During the spring, the programme featured one musician each week, showcasing their talents through various segments and live concerts. We look forward to discovering this new generation at the museum, where they engage with the KMSKA’s collection.
After Elly Brouckmans completed her degree in civil engineering, she set out to pursue her true dream. She began her musical training at the Lemmens Institute and is currently completing her Master’s degree as a saxophonist at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels.
Together with Yarno Hoedemaekers, Umberto Odone and Toon Rumen, she founded Mania, a quartet for which they write their own music in a style entirely their own. In this quartet, Elly plays the alto saxophone; she is also a much-loved guest in several big bands, playing the baritone saxophone: after all, she captivates the listener with her direct and profound communication.
