KMSKA LATE – Elise Caluwaerts

Activities

Soprano Elise Caluwaerts is Artist in Residence at KMSKA. This autumn, she presents a unique musical project centered around the theme of HOPE, with underlying reflections on POWER and POWERLESSNESS. Classical music will be interwoven with iconic paintings from the museum's collection.
With Power / Powerlessness, KMSKA presents an evening where music, image, and word converge in a reflection on the human condition. The starting point is Richard Strauss’s late-Romantic masterpiece Four Last Songs, placed in dialogue with Auguste Rodin’s Pierre de Wissant and a new text by Sachli Gholamalizad. The programme invites reflection on transience, moral courage, and the power of beauty in times of change.
