KMSKA LATE Live - Équi

What happens when you strip a French chanson of its familiar trappings and infuse it with the spirit of jazz? ÉQUI, the duo of singer Anaïs Vijgen and pianist Elias D’hooge, know exactly how to do it.

After performances on Klara, at the MOTIVES Festival, MACCA Club and the Jenever Museum, they now bring their unique sound to KMSKA, presenting beloved chansons in a way you’ve never heard before.

During an ÉQUI concert, listeners are taken on a musical journey through the streets of Paris. The project grew from a shared love of jazz and French music between Hasselt-based singer Anaïs Vijgen and Ghent-based pianist Elias D’hooge. Drawing on their jazz backgrounds, the duo reimagines well-known French chansons with fresh arrangements and a contemporary touch. The result is a programme that feels both familiar and surprising, combining timeless repertoire with the distinctive vision and artistry of two young musicians.
