Following appearances at Gent Jazz, a live session on Klara and concerts across Flanders, Iqnovara returns with a second album, released on W.E.R.F. Records.
For the album O Innocent Heart, bandleader and composer Haroun Iqbal spent three years immersing himself in the tradition of North Indian classical music. He studied intensively with sarod player Asad Qizilbash, who also appears on the album, and travelled to India to study with Shubhendra Rao, a protégé of Ravi Shankar.
The result is a deeply personal album in which Iqbal explores the boundaries between jazz and North Indian classical music, while shaping a musical journey in search of identity.
What begins as a personal exploration of identity becomes a shared experience on stage. Let yourself be drawn into this extraordinary encounter between jazz and North Indian classical music.
