6 May 2027 from 20:00 to 21:15
What remains of a world that is fading away? And what might emerge from its remnants?

Following its run at Toneelhuis, MANTIKE, a production by Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe, arrives at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA) this May. Featuring Marjan De Schutter and a text by Louise van den Eede, the performance finds a natural home in the museum. MANTIKE speaks from within ruins, drawing inspiration from the ancient catacombs of the past.

The museum becomes a place where history is not preserved in stillness but brought vividly to life through sound, movement and poetry. In a world shaped by constant change, MANTIKE reflects on the beauty of what is disappearing and the possibilities hidden within what has come before. Not my Dame, not your dame, Notre Dame. The past is not reconstructed but reimagined and questioned: what new worlds might emerge from its remains?

Surrounded by masterpieces spanning centuries of art history, this exploration takes on an added dimension. The museum itself becomes a co-performer in a production in which Marjan De Schutter guides audiences on a captivating and deeply moving journey through the nature of transience and the art of letting go with love.
