KMSKA LATE - Sergei Redkin & Léon Blekh in The Salon
Category:
Date:

What happens when two musicians, each with their own unique background, come together around the same music? And what if that music resounds amongst the paintings of the 19th-century masters?
Pianist Sergei Redkin and violinist Léon Blekh present a programme in the Salon in which the violin and piano engage in a dialogue, moving between lyricism, silence, tension and virtuosity. From Schubert’s Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major, D 574 ‘Grand Duo’, through Giya Kancheli’s Miniatures, to Sergei Redkin’s Sonata for Violin and Piano: the works open up starkly contrasting musical worlds, by turns intimate and intensely expressive.
A special encounter between music and the visual arts, set amidst the 19th-century museum collection.
