KMSKA LATE - Trio Solear en Migrating Music
Category:
Date:
11 December 2025 from 20:30 to 21:20

Migration Music introduces music of componers who fled or migrated in their life, and researches how these experiences impact their work.
The Trio Solear brings music to life, supported by impressive projections that tell stories of war, conflict and hope. The images reveal a stark contrast between the idyllic musical landscape and the harsh reality of migration.
The performance bridges the gap to the present by collaborating with drama student Pau Stuyck De Graef. Through interviews, she collects current stories of migration from Antwerp, which she interweaves with the music pieces. This creates a common thread that brings together old and new migration stories in a critical and moving way.
Solear is a guitar trio with Philip Brodzinski and Jonas Van Os playing guitar and Rik Baeyens on the drums. Together they combine classical music and jazz, which results in a fresh, intimate sound where different musical worlds collide. Their repertoire ranges from Latin-American, Spanish and Eastern-European music of composers like Astor Piazolla, Enrique Granados and Dušan Bogdanović, to modern jazz and Bossa Nova.
