Leave a bequest

Donating to a museum means passing your passion on to the future. It’s a way to be remembered for years to come.
No one has donated as many works to the museum as Florent van Ertborn. After his death, he left 106 masterpieces, including works by Jan van Eyck, Hans Memling, and the famous Madonna by Jean Fouquet. Since then, many collectors have followed. François Franck brought together the core of the Ensor collection, and neurologist Ludo van Bogaert ensured through his bequest that the KMSKA now holds the most representative collection of Rik Wouters in the world.
Even today, the museum continues to receive bequests from people who care deeply about it. Not only in the form of artworks, but also as financial contributions. These gifts allow us to invest in research, restore key works, and present exhibitions. In this way, your passion lives on for future generations.
The KMSKA in Your Will
When you include the KMSKA in your will, you allow your love of art to live on. You decide how your legacy contributes to the care and accessibility of the collection for future generations.
You can support the museum in several ways. A bequest can consist of:
- A cash gift or securities portfolio: To fund restorations or scientific research.
- Artworks or a collection: To enrich the museum’s holdings, in consultation with our curators and collection specialists.
- Real estate: The proceeds from the sale are directly invested in the museum’s operations.
Since 1 July 2021, the KMSKA benefits from a 0% inheritance tax rate for bequests to charities. This means that every euro you leave goes entirely to the museum, without any deductions for inheritance taxes.
