KMSKA LATE - A tribute to Bernard Dewulf

Category:

Talk

Date:

3 December 2026 from 21:00 to 21:30
On December 23, 2021, Bernard Dewulf, poet, essayist and playwright, passed away. Five years later, we pay tribute to a writer who possessed a unique gift for capturing light in words and teaching his readers how to look at both the everyday world and the world of art.

Joining us is journalist Guinevere Claeys, who reflects on Dewulf’s sensitive pen, inseparably linked to his attentive gaze. For him, writing was a way of seeing, and seeing a way of loving.

Cathérine Verleysen, curator of 19th-century art, will also shed light on his work. In the Salon, she brings excerpts from Bernard Dewulf’s writings into dialogue with 19th-century paintings and scenes. This encounter between word and image reveals how his texts can deepen and sharpen our perception of historical art.

An evening of listening, looking and remembrance, offering an opportunity to let Bernard Dewulf’s words shine once more.
