KMSKA LATE - KLANKVELD by BL!NDMAN x Antony Gormley

Category:

Performance

Date:

3 September 2026 from 19:00 to 21:30
BL!NDMAN brings the exhibition Antony Gormley. Geestgrond to life through music with KLANKVELD. The percussion quartet from the Belgian music collective has developed a site-specific project especially for the KMSKA that enters into dialogue with the British artist’s sculptures.

Drawing on a carefully curated selection from their repertoire, the musicians explore themes that also resonate in Gormley’s work: the encounter between the living body and the solid object, the minimal relationship between material and form, the interplay between imagination and physical experience, and the place of the human being within architectural space.

The name KLANKVELD is inspired by the idea that the musicians essentially create a sonic space around the artworks, without actually playing ‘on’ them. In this way, Antony Gormley’s Geestgrond is given a musically vibrant backdrop that further deepens the relationship between body, space and sculpture.

This is not a traditional concert: BL!NDMAN will be performing continuously in the exhibition space from 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm.
