KMSKA LATE – Opening of the Bert De Leeuw Exhibition
Category:

On 11 June, we open a new exhibition in the Print Room. Throughout the summer of 2026, discover the work of Bert De Leeuw. An artist through and through, he was born a hundred years ago in Antwerp’s South district. Running through his extensive body of work is a recurring theme: a fascination with the origin and finiteness of life within a cosmic whole.
Throughout his life, he continued searching for ways to give visual form to ideas. As a self-taught artist, he drew on his experience as a painter of cinema advertisements and as a set builder for the BRT. During his career, he experimented with a wide range of materials, from glass beads that created a shimmering effect to pieces of polystyrene used to explore large volumes.
