Workshop - In the shoes of a conservator

Works of art sometimes need a little care too. That’s when a conservator steps in! Just like a doctor, they examine the artwork closely: what happened, where is the damage, and what is the best way to treat it?

In this workshop, you’ll step into the shoes of a conservator. You’ll discover how to examine, care for and protect an artwork for the future.

Then it’s time to put your new skills into practice with a restoration task of your own. You’ll fill in missing sections of a painting (reproduction), trying to match the original colours and shapes as closely as possible. A creative workshop for curious hands and sharp eyes!
