Guided tour - 'Zie jij wat ik zie? - Een wonderlijke kijktocht!'

In the fall of 2025, the KMSKA will take students from 3rd to 6th grade into the surreal world of René Magritte. During a playful tour, they will discover how Magritte turns reality upside down.

With attention to detail, creativity, and wonder, children learn to see the world as an artist thinks. Let your class dream, imagine, and be amazed!

About the exhibition

In the exhibition Magritte. La ligne de vie, running from November 15, 2025, to February 22, 2026, you will discover how René Magritte, in 1938, took the floor at the KMSKA to explain his vision of art and reality. The exhibition is based on this exceptional lecture, in which Magritte discusses his own work and outlines the Belgian Surrealist movement. Using works he personally selected at the time, Magritte acts as his own curator. The exhibition also highlights his role as a bridge between Surrealism in Antwerp and Brussels, and shows how he consciously opposed abstraction to create images that embody ideas.
